In response to “Light Painting 012-2,” Call No. 38.
Instead
Ben Rose
I wish I could see you
spinning like yarn,
splicing toward infinity
and learning the art of ease
I hear the pins of your breath,
junipers haunting the hallways
of a home I never knew existed,
a blue bowl burning against your fingers
“Nothing has ever moved me like she does.”
I am in four places at once,
yet none of them the sun -
wringing hands of unearned sweat
and stripping silence from the doors
Instead
green is a place I know only in my eyes
as love tinges ambition
like so many drops of unspilled blood
